Are you confused about some of the jargon or terms used in surrogacy? Well we are here to help!! Here are some common ones you may come across on your journey.

Intended Parents/IPs/Commissioning Parents: The person/s who wish to ultimately have legal parentage over the child to be born via surrogacy. The ones who take baby home!

PRP: Patient Review Panel: The peak body in Victoria responsible for approving surrogacy arrangements.

FET: Frozen embryo transfer (an IVF term, you probably know it!!)

PO or SPO: Parentage Order or Substitute Parentage Order, which is the order that is obtained from the relevant Court to transfer legal parentage from the surrogate to the Ips.
